Part 5. Import external application to AppD

1. Login to the AppD server using the darwin_user account or the one has sufficient permissions,

a. Once logged in Login run to launch the Darwin CLI,

java -jar /home/darwin/tools/darwin-cli.jar

b. On the darwin_cli prompt login to the vRA server with the user account that has sufficient permissions provided in vRA Users&Groups,

spring> login --serverUrl https://10.63.6.79:8443/darwin --username vs-admin@teapot.com --password VMware1!

Note: Default 'admin' account that was created during the AppD installation does not have sufficient permissions and does not see all the commands.

2. Copy the Application file.

The application .xml file must be copied to the below location on the vRA AppD server.

/home/darwin_user

3. Hit Tab on keyboard to see the commands applicable for the user.

4. Run the below command to import the external application, Here I have taken example of WebLogic Server application.

spring> import-package --importFilePath Clustered_Oracle_WebLogic_Application_Server12c.xml --targetGroup vs-bgroup --shared --conflictResolutionAction SKIP

5. Once successful you will see a message saying it,

6. Verify the imported application in the AppD Webpage
