vRA7 Management Agent Deployment

You can downloads and installs a Management Agent on IaaS machines in your deployment. The Management Agent must be installed on all IaaS servers except for those that are used exclusively for your MS SQL database. The Management Agent registers IaaS nodes with the vRealize Automation appliance, automates the installation and management of IaaS components, and collects support and telemetry information. The Management Agent runs as a Windows service on your IaaS machine and you must have local administrator rights to install the agent.

Installation procedure

1. Open your vRealize Automation appliance by specifying https://<vra-appliance-fqdn>:5480/installer 

Note: Do not use a load balancer address.

2. Click Management Agent installer to download the installer.

3. Run the Management Agent installer you downloaded in the previous step, the file name is vCAC-IaaSManagementAgent-Setup.msi.

4. Click Next on the Welcome page.

5. Accept the EULA and click Next.

6. Provide an alternative installation path or accept the default value. Click Next.

8. Enter the fqdn address for the vRealize Appliance (Note: in Entrerprise deployment user first vRA appliance address). Use the port number as well.

• Enter User account details for the vRA Appliance.
• Load the Management Site SSL certificate fingerprint.
• Select the "Confirm the fingerprint matches..." check-box.
• Click Next

11. Enter the service account user name and password. Click Next.

13. Click Install.

14. Click Finish.

15. Now if you goto "services.msc" in your server you should see the agent service installed there. And an agent in the Program & Features as well.

16. Repeat this for all other IaaS servers.
