Governance and Approval policies

Any items that is part of catalog either for new request or existing request has to go through approval process. A tenant administrator or an approval administrator can create approval policies. Each approval policy has an approval policy type that determines what requests that policy can apply to.

To add a new Approval Policy, Goto --> Administration --> Approval Policies

Click on Green + button to create a new approval policy and select the appropriate Policy type from the drop down that meets your requirement.

Give a name to this policy and change the status to Active. Click on the Level + under Pre-approval, this will be applied before the provisioning happens and similarly Post-Approval level is applied after the deployment.

You can define conditions here to how the approvals will happen, that is Always required or conditionally.

Options under 'Request based on conditions'.

Once this done click Add twice (one for Level window and one for Policy) to create a new Approval Policy. Now next is to add this Approval Policy to the Catalog that will go through this.

Goto --> Administration --> Catalog Management --> Entitlement

Edit the Entitlement

Goto Items & Approvals tab, Select the Entitled Services and Catalog Items to apply policy to.
Select Modify Policy from the small arrow to edit and choose the Approval policy from the drop down.

Click Update.
