Business Group creation

Business group is a set of users that are provided with the set of services. Typically it can be a line of service or a department in an organization. A business group is created in a organization by the tenant administrator. A vCAC user must be part of at least one business group to request a machine.

To create a Business group,

Infrastructure --> Groups --> Business Groups,

Select 'New Business group' option,

Enter the necessary details including the Machine Prefix we create in previous post. The Machine prefix should be visible in the drop down.

Enter the Active Directory container in the same format. If you note there are certain Roles mentioned here, let me quickly tell you what they are,

Group Manager - The business group manager can see all machines created in the group and can create and manage group blueprints. He is also an approver for the catalog requests and monitors the resource usage.

Support Role - they can work for another group member, and users are entitled to see blueprints in the service catalog.

User RoleA user can be a member of more than one business group, and can have different roles in different groups.

Click OK once complete and you can see a new Business group is created successfully.
